Frequently asked questions
How are images with different sizes handled?
Images are not distorted. Side-by-side and vertical layouts preserve each image's proportions and center it on the shared canvas. Grid mode places images in equal-size cells and scales them proportionally. Each source image can be up to 40 megapixels, with 60 megapixels total across the selection; a combined canvas that exceeds the safe output dimensions is reduced proportionally.
How can I put photos side by side?
Upload the photos, choose Side by side, arrange them in the order you want, set the spacing and background, then merge them into one PNG image.
What is the difference between Fit and Fill in a grid?
Fit (the default) shows the complete image with background space where its proportions do not match the cell. Fill scales and center-crops the image until the cell is covered.
Which image formats can I merge?
This tool accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and BMP images. WebP is not currently supported by this merge tool.
Can I change the order of the photos?
Yes. Drag the uploaded images or use the move buttons. The final image follows the order shown in the file list.
Can I choose the spacing and background?
Yes. Set the gap from 0 to 80 px and choose a background color. The background fills the canvas and any unused space around images in Fit mode.
Does the merged image keep transparent backgrounds?
No. The result is an opaque PNG. Transparent parts of source images are composited onto your selected background color (white by default).
What file will I download?
The merged result is a single PNG image.
