Frequently asked questions
Can hidden text still be copied after redaction?
Pages containing marked areas are rasterized, and the output is checked for opaque black coverage. Text on those affected pages will no longer be selectable or searchable.
Does redaction work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. Covered pixels in page images are removed and replaced with the selected redaction fill.
Is this a legal guarantee?
No. Always inspect the downloaded file and confirm every sensitive item is covered before sharing it.
Does this use conversion quota?
Yes. Redaction is a server-side PDF job and is subject to the normal conversion limits.
